Very fascinating article. My G Grandmother was a Skidmore, Addie Erle Skidmore b. Dec., 1876, d. May, 1928. She married Herbert Lester Turner. Her father was Spain Alonzo Skidmore, he died Nov. 1926 in Perry Twp., Logan Co. Ohio. His father was Thomas Skidmore from Logan co. Ohio. I spent many of days in my younger life in East Liberty Ohio. Great memories. I wonder if there is a connection?

My Thomas was born 13/2/1825 in Logan Co. Ohio
He married in Logan Co. 24/8/1848
His death was 11/7/1909 in York twp. Union Co.

Maybe somewhere there is a connection. Most of our family stayed in Logan Co. My grandparents lived in East Liberty, buried in East Liberty Cemetery.

My information on the dates for Thomas Skidmore may be faulty, I do not remember where I got them, But id your Thomas was married to Mary Jane Moor and is buried in the Millcreek Cemetery in Liberty Twp. Union Co. Ohio. He is the brother to my Gt. Grandmother. and his wife was the daughter of my Gt. Grandfathers oldest brother.

Surnames: Skidmore Orahood Ballinger Drake Garwood Randall
Frances J Skidmore, wife of Isaac Orahood, was the daughter of Joshua Skidmore and Hope Ballinger. Joshua was son of William Skidmore and Mary Randall. Spain's father Thomas married Hannah Jane Drake, I think, and was the son of Joseph Skidmore and Rebecca Garwood. Joseph was also a son of William Skidmore and Mary Randall. Does this agree with what you know? All of the Logan County Skidmores are connected.

I wish I could say we had the same Thomas Skidmore. My Thomas married Hannah Jane Drake. I do believe somewhere there is a connection, just not immediate.

I didn't want to reply until I knew for sure.

The information you have is correct. I am just really learning and finding this information out myself. I am fairly new to genealogy.
