I am at a standstill with the Orach genealogy. Briefly what I know is this:
Maria Stolarchuk (Orach) and three daughters, Anna, Olga and Stella came from the Ukraine and resided in N.J. (sometime in the early 1900's) and then Nicholas Orach came to the states later. Then there was a fourth child born, Nicholas Orach, Jr. Is there anybody out there with any Orach or Oracz information?
Thanks,
Jeanne Orach

I have some information on Oracz name from Ukraine....Oracz isn't very common....You will find some listed in online directories....the ones in Michigan are all related. The ones in NY are from Ukraine...you will find them willing to contact you.

Hi Jeanne,

My family is from Eastern Slovakia. Name variations are Orats, Oracs, Orac, Orach. The name means "plowman". In Polish it is Oracz and it means the same thing.

I corresponded with a Nick Orach some years ago, but don't have an address for him. You may try a search in the AOL directory.

My family settled in the anthracite coal region in NE Pennsylvania in Carbon County.

Best regards,

Ron Orach

I'm also part of the Oracz family, most of whom are from the Kielce and Radom area.(Radom Gubernia / Kielce Province)

P.S.:
It is known about a branch that emigrated from the Ostrow Mazowiecka area to Michigan and the United States.
Seti's sister, Leah Oracz, emmigrated in the 1920's from Wochock to the United States.
I haven't yet found a connection between the first Oracz from the Radom area, Shlomo Oracz, and the first of the Oraczs from Ostrow-Mazovieck, Leib Oracz.

All the best and good luck

Hi, My name is Neil Oratz, my father was Samuel (Schlomo) Oratz in the USA but the name was spelled Oracz before Ellis Island. I believe Leah or Lilly was my grandmother, a beautiful woman. I have her picture on an immigration document from the 1920's, and if you email me at giantfan1952@yahoo.com I could send it to you. Anyway my grandfather who came over first was Nathan. He then sent for my grandmother and three children, and two more were born more in the USA. Grandpa Nathans father was Mendel Oracz. He was shot along with his wife Cina by German Police in the spring of 1942 in their hometown of Wochock Poland in the Kielce district, probably because they were very old, and couldn't make the trip on the train. The other two families were sent off to Treblinka and I believe out of ten relatives, one survived the camps.
