Surnames: O'Quin, O'Quinn
To those who are researching the Colleton O'Quin/O'Quinn families:

Other than information from ancestry.com trees, I cannot find anything referencing William Edward O’Quinn as “Charles.” Does anyone have any “real” sourced information indicating his name was Charles? I am inclined to believe there may have been some old erroneous information on someone’s tree that became “adopted” by other tree builders over time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. (Thank you, LasernaG, for your recent source showing his name as "William Edward.") Thanks! ~jojames~

Charles Edward was William Edward's son. I have been noticing a lot of incorrect information posted about our line of O'quinns. William Edward was my gggrandfather and I know his name was not Charles.

Thanks for the confirmation...and, you are so right about the incorrect information out there. It can be really frustrating.

I also found on here that someone has my grandfather married to my grandmother's first cousin. They have it in their family tree like that.
