Take a look at this site and you will see your people here. Seems like you are Oslo connected and my family is from Kristiansund N and Bjun. My family and I visited Norway in July 2012 with cousin Steinar Hagen who works at Oslo city hall. Just read your posting, would you by chance have a picture of Ida Amelia? Her brother, Julius Hanson Opager, was my Great Grandfather. I do have a picture of Ida's mother, Caroline, not very good but ever still i'am glad to have it. I do have Manford born August 13, 1910 listed in the family tree book, as of that is all i have in his line. Also would you know if a photo is around of Karoline's husband Ole Laurits Gulbraudson Opager, They are buried at Saint Petries cementery north of Boyd, Mn. Thanks for now Dave

I was just cruising the Internet, and I stumbled onto your posting.
Ida Amelia Opager was my grandmother. My father was Manford Leonard Oman, her son. My father was born in Boyd, Minnesota. He left as a teenager after Ida's death. I was told that there were nine children in his family. Four of the children died in infancy. Mabel was the oldest. She may have had a different father from the others. Gladyce was next. She lived most of her life in New Effington, SD...married to Anton Swenson. Four children.. My father was next. He lived most of his life in Scappoose, Oregon...two children. There are two younger siblings, Kenneth and Alpha.
They lived in Medford, Oregon. There were references to Uncle Ole Opager in family stories in my youth. I live in Portland,Oregon. Interesting..........

Hello my name is Grethe Islann and my mothers name before marrige was Opager. Her mother was Olaf Opagers wife and her name was Margit. And his fathers name was Thomas Opager. Exackt; my grandfather was Olaf Opager, born ca. 1865.
Can this be the same family as yours?

Hello! My mothers girlname was Margit Opager (the same as Olafs wife) and her fathers name was Olaf Opager and his fathers name was Thomas Opager. Olaf was born ca. 1865. Can it may be from the same Opager-family? The only one who has the name is my cousin Kirsten Opager in Oslo. She is 65 years of age. OLE laurits gulbraudson opager born dec 12 1841 in norway came to USA applied for citizenship in Green Cty Wisc. later coming to boyd mn. he homesteaded a farm on dec of 1887 He had a son julius, gustava,thomas,ole,and daughter Ida amellia any help would be appreciated IM more so looking for info on Thomas not much knowed of him thanks

My Great (Julius) Grandfather was your dad's Uncle. I some time ago talked by land line to your dad when I was putting together the family tree. As for Stella Anderson, I have talked and visited her a many a time, she is a grand Lady. My Grandson and I stopped by her place about a week ago, we had been farther west of there picking up farm machinery. I have tried and finally gave up on your sister that lives in California. I have talked to your dad Wilfred a few times for his granfather Julius was my Great Granfather. My dad only lives one mile west of the opager home farm. I have done a far amount of tree work on this also.

My father Dwaine Selmer Opager was born in Boyd Mn. on July 23rd 1928. His parents were named Ole & Sina (Swenson) Opager. His siblings were;
Leonard Bennie Swenson b.apr 7 1910 d oct8 1970.
Pearl Ruby Opager b.apr 25 1913
Stella Oleanna Opager b.June 18 1921
Lorraine Selma Opager b.Nov 6 1922
Orion Merle Clifford Opager b. July 22 1924
Mae Irene Clara Opager b.July 24 1926
Leon Eloi Opager b.Aug 28 1930
As of this writing, Pearl, Orion, and Leon (Pee Wee) have also passed away.

My grandfather was Ludvik(Ludwig)Herman Opager, born in Kristiansund, Norway. He married Jennie Pederson from South Dakota (her parents were also from Norway)and they had 4 children, Eleanore (Montgomery, AL), Irene (Des Plaines, IL), Signe (Des Plaines, IL) and my father, Ludwig Herman, Jr. (Milton, FL). I have 2 sisters (Jennifer and Grace)and one brother (Erik). I would love to hear of any other family members - and if any are still in Norway. My dad and mom are planning a trip to Norway this fall. Hope to hear something soon.

emigrated from Norway a little over a 100 years ago
Their names where Ove Olsen Opaker and his wife Elen
We believe they had six children:
Ova Hultquist, Karoline Opager Birkeland
Ludvig Opager. And the rest of the names we are not sure
