Last year, I did some research on Tip O'Neill's family, and concluded that he did have an Uncle named John, born about 1868 or 1869. I never tried to trace what happened to John O'Neill after 1880, where he showed up in the census in North Cambridge, MA with his brother Thomas, who is Tip O'Neill's father.
