Missouri O'Nan --- 4 brother killed in Civil War

I have just obtained written information left by my deceased grandmother listing Sarah O'Nan as her gmother or ggmother. Sarah had 4 brothers, John, Clemp, Amos, and Alfred, all of whom in our oral/written history were killed in the Civil War, Amos killed at Gettysburg, John was wounded and died on the way home, Clemp unknown, and Alfred was killed by bushwackers while returning home from the war. All were from Booneville, Boone Co., MO.

The Missouri Volunteer Index shows John, Clempson, and Amos as all from Boone Co., MO, and having died for the Confederacy. Clempson was killed at Vicksburg on June 28, 1863.

Anyone there connected to this line?

Dennis,

I don't have much on this line. Your ONAN line connects to the KY families. There are a lot of John ONANs, and I have not yet been able to determine your John ONAN's parents. Following is what I have:

1. JOHN ONAN was born 1807, and died 02 Oct 1866 in MO. He married MARGARET KELLER 04 Aug 1834 in Franklin Co, Ky, daughter of ISAAC KELLER and MARY WEBB. She was born Abt. 1812.

Children of JOHN ONAN and MARGARET KELLER are:
i. CLEMPSON ONAN, b. 1836.
ii. ASENTH ONAN, b. 1837.
iii. AMOS J. ONAN, b. 1838.
iv. ELIZABETH FRANCES ONAN, b. 1839.
v. SABINA ONAN, b. 1842.
vi. JOHN W. ONAN, b. 1843.
vii. ALFRED T. ONAN, b. 1845.
viii. ANN M. ONAN, b. 1845.
ix. MALISSA J. ONAN, b. 1847.
x. MARGARET "LYDIA" ONAN, b. 1849.
xi. SARAH FRANKLIN ONAN, b. 1851.
xii. JOSEPHINE ONAN, b. 1855.

I am looking for my gr-gr grandfather whom my family said was killed in the Civil War and no other information except that his daughter was Jeanette (Nettie) married to Robert Emmett Conley. They lived in Boone County Mo and their name was O'Nan. I thought his name was George, but possibly could have been Clemson George O'Nan

I have one Nettie Onan, born 9/20/1860, died 1/19/1940, dau of Clempson Onan and Sophia Barnes. Nettie was m. according to my information to Robert E. Conley 3/15/1883 in Boone Co., MO.

Robert Conley is buried in Centralia City Cemetary, Boone Co., MO. I do not know where Nettie is buried.

So yes, I have quite a bit on this family before 1860. Feel free to email me at dblowe742@msn.com.

My great grandmother was married to Robert Emmett Conley that you are speaking of, but we have no information on her parents other than their names which are Clemson George and Susan (Barnes) O'Nan. Jannette is also buried in Centralia Cemetery, Boone Co. Mo. I would love to have more info on this part of my family tree. Thanks so much for your reply. Connected to the KY line. My GG Grandmother Was Emaline Mary Onan b,1938. Not sure about all, but some of the lines in KY/Penn were French Catholic. Their name was Aunan(t) and changed to Onan when they arrived in the US. She lived with my cousins Mother until she died in 1922. According to my cousin she kept her Rosaries in the basement.
