My fiance and I are trying to research his family history.
My fiance's Mother's maiden name is O'Mahony. Her father's name was John O'Mahony who was married to Ruth Blagen (not sure if the spelling is correct).
We know very little else. My fiance's mother lived in Brooklyn until her father died (we don't know any dates) and then moved to Arizona with her mother. She is currently living in Buffalo NY.
We think that John O'Mahony might have died in Washington D.C.. We are almost positive that Ruth died in Arizona.
I know this is a long shot and the information we provided is minimal, but unfortunately that is all we know. If anyone has any information whatsoever please reply! My fiance and I would love to know the history of his family and any little bit of information would be of great help. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Devon Jones

Devon,
Were you living in Seattle when this message was posted? Is your fiance the oldest son of Miles O'Mahoney? Did he come to dinner at our apartment in Bellevue in 1996 or so? Please let me know. I have since lost touch with him if this is the cousin I remember meeting. Please respond.
Thanks,
.Christina Gibbons

I am trying to understand who you are. Your fiance sounds like the son of Cathy or Faith. I have been searching for ways of contacting relatives on the east coast, but have been unsuccessful until now. Pardon my excitement in writing these three emails. I just know that I am over 2 years late in answering this and did not search the name Blagen over the internet until now.
Sincerely,
Christina Gibbons

Dear Devon;
I have attempted to reach you by email. I am quite certain you are the son of Cathy O'Mahoney0Jones. I have a picture of Grandma Ruth Blagen, John O'mahoney and all 8 children in my home and would love to touch base with you. There is a lot of fracturing of our family. The cousins for the most part have not met or maybe some have. We have been seperated too long. Please write to me at 5216 79th Ct. SW Olympia, WA 98512 if you get this message. I will send you my phone number at that time. I am your cousin. All the information you have in your email about the family is correct. We need dates of grandfather's birth or death and the same with grandmother. Can you ask your mom. Tell her, MaryJane loved her dearly.
Love to you,
Christina

So here it is, seven years later...I hope that you are still available through this board.
I am Thom O'Mahony, son of John O'Mahony (your uncle). So that makes me your cousin.
Actually, you (or your sister) and I were in touch years ago.
I have recently been in contact with another cousin of ours, Karen (daughter of Ruth Smith)
I have been inspired to start a web group on gmail to finally get all of our information together.
email me at cousinthom0@gmail.com, and I will send you the link.

I look forward to talking to you.

By the way, i remember visiting you when your family still lived in Westchester. We were young then.
