There is a Timothy J. who was teaching philosophy at BC in 1963; there is also a scholarship in his name at BC High in Dorchester.

Thank-you, yes, that is the same Timothy. I met him once when my brother attended Boston College. My great Aunts always referred to him as a cousin but I have yet to find a connection. Are you related?

I am doubtful of our being related recently. I am an -ey Mahoney. My father had cousins in Cambridge: Margaret and Mary, who never married; their father was Daniel. I believe Dan was born in 1867 in Ballygarvan, Cork. The girls would have been born around the turn of the century. I am from Chelsea, my grandfather was born in the North End. I am about the ninth in the family to go to BC, and my brother, uncle, et. al. went to BC High. I'll ask around about Fr. O'Mahony.

Thank you! I have a couple of records saved that might fit but am not sure. I have a pencil sketch of my great-grandfather that is signed "John Mahoney" I did find a record for a John who was a commercial artist in Cambridge and in a family bible I found Fr. Omahonys funeral prayer card (1971) and that was spelled as is "O'Mahony". I also live in Ma, on the south shore. Thanks again.
