Hello Klaus,
Thank you for answering my post.
What region of Germany is the village that you refer to? Since making the initial post 2 years ago, I have discovered a few more things about Henry. We believe that his original German name may have been Oldenbüttel and that Ollenbittle was the Anglisized version of it. His children (names listed below)used either Ollenbittle, or Ollenbuttel as their names. If the name is "Oldenbüttel" then it is a more common name I believe in Germany, from around the Hanover region.
Henry seems to have married a girl from another German family living in London, Louise Sarah Etjen (or Öetjen perhaps) daughter of a Stone Cutter (carver of grave stones) John (Johan?) Öetjen.
Henry's children were as follows:- Henry James, John, Joseph John, Thomas, William Henry, Benjamin Barker, Olive Marie, Sarah Elizabeth (last named after her mother Sarah Etjen and mother's mother Elizabeth).
I would be most interested to hear if you can shed any further light upon these family members. If however, nothing can be found, thank you for your interest in my message.
Regards
