Re: OLAGUEZ de Chinacates y Las Palmas Durango
Most of the people from Las Palmas & Chinacates come from 'El Rio', which is to the north of these two pueblos, and runs parallel to the main road that goes to Santiago Papasquiaro. Not sure exacly how the Olaguez got to Chinacates, but i do know the Riveras and Favelas were some of the first people to move to the regions in the 1920s..

Re: OLAGUEZ de Chinacates y Las Palmas Durango
Hello there!! I recently found out my great-great-great grandmother's name was Refugio Olaguez, whom I believe came from Santiago Papasquiaro. I'm trying to get as much information on my ancestry as I can, so I'd appreciate any information. All I know is that she was married to Jesus Gandarilla, and had a daughter named Clemencia Gandarilla (my great-great grandmother). Clemencia moved to Topia, Durango, where she gave birth to a son, Antonio Gandarilla, who grew up and had my grandfather, Antonio Gandarilla Jr....
I hope this info helps someone out there. If anyone has any more info on Refugio or anyone else possibly related to her, I'd love to hear it!
