Ojeda family,one big family

Hello all again,
To the best of my knowledge, which spans
from family information and that of which i
have uncovered through books and computers on
this subject is this. The Ojeda surname originates
in one place, northern Spain. To be more exact
it is from Castille,Briviesca region near Burgos.
It is quite an old family and is of noble origins.
If you look for records of knighted families of
Spain you will find a crest and documentation
of knighthood among the Ojeda family. There was
never any mention of any other family in any
records that i have perused. Not only that
the same information was handed down to me by
my own family which has lived in Guadalajara
Mexico since the 1500's.The most notable Ojeda
in history however as far as the americas are concerened
is Alonso deOjeda.Who has quite an impressive
history and disasterous at the same time.
Alonso also had brothers who settled the americas.
Alonso discovered,named,and colonized venezuela.
He also spent time on the islands off the east coast
of Mexico, which ones i have forgotten. But on thing
is for sure, all of us Ojedas, whether we are
primarily of native blood,spanish,mexican,puerto rican,
south american etc.we all hailed from the same
enigmatic spanish peoples.i would definately be interseted
in any and all stories, records, etc from anyone
by that noble Ojeda name.Perhaps some of us
will find lost direct related kin.
thanx,James
