I'm looking for more information on Charles' first wife Amalia Abrahamson. It appears they were married near Cokato, Minnesota around 1901 and had three children, Charles Junior, Ernest, and Daisy Florence.

By any chance, is this Karl Ivar Ojala, son of Gustaf and Sofia Ojala. I have a birth date for Karl of 26 March 1890. Is it the same one?
Bob Ojala

This Karl Ojala was born on July 28, 1881 Oulu, Finland. His parents' names are Johan Johaninpoika Ojala and Elisabeth Matintytar Kauppi. His whole family emigrated to America and ended up in Cokato, MN. Where is your Karl Ojala from?
|
Mary..I used to live in Cokato, but didn't know your Karl Ojala. I asked my mother she can't remember them either (Her maiden name is Ojala and I'm the one looking for info on Johan Johanna Ojala). Your Karl's lineage is different from mine..sorry, but I thought it interesting with the Cokato connection.

I wonder how many Ojalas there were in Cokato at that time. My great-grandfather moved to Minneapolis soon after he got married. Probably in about 1903.

Mary..could you send me your email address by mail to me? Janet Mielke, 17220 Boswell Blvd, Ste 130, Sun City AZ 85373..Thx

Re: Charles or Karl(e) Ojala
Mary,
I'm not sure if you still will get notification on this, or if you got your query answered (since you asked a decade ago... sorry).
Charles Ojala was my grandfather (by his second wife, Emma Eliason). My mom is Marian Ojala.
I got some information on Amalia Abrahamson (and her father, Peter and mother, Johanna W. Nikku) from the papers of my aunt Vivian. Not much, but some.
Reply if you get this and we can connect.
Thanks,
Ken Schonberg

Re: Charles or Karl(e) Ojala
Hi Ken, I got married and moved to Norway in 2006. I am just getting back to researching Amalia Abrahamson. Vivian had given me so much information already. I didn't realize there was more. If you are still connected to ancestry and get this message, I would be truly grateful if you could contact me via email. I probably can find your snail mail address somewhere in my notes. My brother, Max Seim has taken over all the research papers as I didn't want to move all that info to Norway. I believe I entered the family tree on ancestry.com and my brother also has it on the web. If you would like to see it you will need to contact him and get a password. Thanks for responding to this! Mary
