My ancestors changed the name back in the early 1800's to Hare leaving out the O and the i in the name, it had something to do with being presecuted for being a foreigner. So alot of the immigrants from Ireland dropped the O and changed the spelling to make their way in the US. My Ggrandfather (3xback) settled in Watertown, NY and raised a very large family there. This included my grandfather Thomas Eugene Hare, who married Amelia Veronica Connor and they had six boys one of them my father, Douglas Gerard Hare. His brothers were Thomas, Richard, Carlton, Duane and Page. Any information anyone has would be appreciated. Our Irish ancestors were from Armagh County, Ireland. Thanks
