O'Hairs in Collingsworth/Lubbock Co., Texas
Carolyn -
Appreciate your post. I belive our O'Hairs are pretty close. My wife's grandfather was Luther Lewis ("Pat") O'Hair, son of James Luther O'Hair, born 1878. James Luther was the son of William Washington O'Hair b. 1845 who was the brother of your Robert Thomas O'Hair. Most of my O'Hairs eventually settled, lived, and died in Collingsworth Co., Texas. Would love to swap information with you!

Anthony, Thanks for your response. Sounds like our O'Hairs are 'close'. My father, Jesse O'Hair was a second cousin (I believe) to Pat O'Hair. I met "Pat" at a Lewis funeral years ago in Quanah. I only recently discovered his connection with the W.C. Lewis (also my dad's cousin). Would love to learn more! Carolyn

My husband's family contains O'Hairs. I haven't done much research on them but his great grandmother Susie O'Hair, I believe, is one of the O'Hair sisters you mentioned. I found her on the 1880 census as the daughter of Robert T. O'Hair, 3 years old. She married Alexander E. Gillespie in 1897 in Erath, Texas. Would like to share information on descendants with you.

Hi Carolyn, nice to meet a new cousin! My father was Fred Warren O'Hair, son of James Luther O'Hair, son of William Washington O'Hair, son of Andrew Washington O'Hair and Marth (Patsy) Jane Thompson. I believe that your Robert Thomas O'Hair is a brother to William Washington O'Hair.
Do you have any pictures of Robert Thomas O'Hair? I would love to have one if it isn't too much trouble. I'll be glad to send you a picture of his father Andrew Washington O'Hair if you don't have one. Also, if you want a picture of William Washington O'Hair and his wife Ann Hazeltine Martin, I can send that also. I can either mail them, or e-mail them.
Let me know if I can help you in any way. Thanks so much and be blessed.

Hi Fred, nice to meet you too. I would love to get a photo of Andrew Washington and also William Washington and Ann Hazelton Martin. You can email photos to me. Meanwhile I’m searching through my photos to see if I have anything on R.T. O’Hair.
According to my ‘records’,I noticed that James Luther was married to Annie Bell Lewis. Annie Bell was the sister of Lishe Lewis who married Minnie McCorkle Lewis, my ‘great-aunt’. Bare with me – Minnie McCorkle Lewis and Carrie D. Burns O'Hair, my grandmother were half-sisters, having the same Mother.
Patrick ‘Pat’ O’Hair whom I met at Minnie Lewis’ funeral was a child of James Luther. It appears we have more of a connection than you think.
Please feel free to email me. I would love to correspond with a new cousin. Thanks, Carolyn

I am so sorry I am just now reading your post. I do hope this finds you. Thank you for the info you have already provided. I will share anything I have to update you on the brothers of Susie. I only have the name Etta of the sister. She was my father's favorite aunt, I remember hearing him speak fondly of her.
