THOMAS (O')GARA, Rosecommon, Ireland

Surnames: O'Gara, Gara
I am searching for the name of Thomas O'Gara's parents. I have little information on him. He was married to Mary McDonnell who was born in 1846. In the 1911 Census, Mary is listed as a widow and living with her three grandchildren: John (10), Rodger (4 whom I am a descended from), and Harriet (5).
The surname used in the 1911 Census is Gara and when the family moved to America, they started to use O'Gara. So it is possible that either was used by Thomas Sr.'s father.
Thomas had a son, named Thomas who was born in Creggane on August 3, 1873. He went to America without his children and died in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. His children eventually came over. This Thomas was married to Bridget Brennan whom he left in Ireland. I saw that she traveled to America, but went back to Ireland and died there in 1950. (I have her mass card from her funeral.) Apparently, Thomas remarried a Mary O'Neill.
I have searched the 1911, 1901, 1851, and 1841 Census to see if I could find Thomas Sr.'s parents names but was unable to find anything.
Does anyone have suggestions for a next step? Or any information?

Thank you!

Thank you so much for that information! I think I remember researching a "Patk" O'Gara at one point. This really helps--although there are so many Pat's in Ireland. This gives me a good starting point! I truly appreciate the help!
