Do the towns in Wabash Co. IN, New Madison, Servia, Urbana, North Manchester, sound familiar?

I am currently establishing lineage to Peter in N Manchester. Have tracked it to the point he is an uncle. I and my sister are the last living in N Manchester, which he founded in 1836. Any information would be greatly welcomed.

Peter was a son of Samuel (1779-1842) and Mary or Nancy (1780-1845). Samuel was a son of Peter (ca 1747- ca 1830) and Phamy Ogan of Virginia. Emily can fill you in on more of this family. Read thru the Ogan posts for postings from Kelly Remy and Paula Ogan Schneider.

I was going to write earlier today, but was busy. I am an Ogan desc. form Peter and Euphemia. I also run the Ogan DNA project and we have tested a member of Peter's family as well as Samuel's family. Unless there is a paternity issue with Samuel's line that was tested (Peter's had many matches), there is no way on heaven and earth that Samuel is connected to Peter unless you want to take the lines back over 1,000 years ago and more. Of course, impossible to do.

Peter is the son of Samuel according to the genealogy, but Samuel isn't the son of Peter unless there was a paternity issue somewhere in Samuel's line. I do know that Euphemia (Phamey) was adopted by Samuel Bevan. So this family is open to adopting children. I do know that both Samuel and Peter were in Belmont Co, OH just after 1806 and they no doubt new each other. There was an Evan there, also and his DNA line matches that of Peter. If you would like to email me directly, I can give you names, dates and places on the desc. of Samuel. I am sorry, but I don't have time tonight and this form is a bit small for what I know.

If you know of an Ogan male who descends from this line, we could test him and determine if the other line who tested from Samuel is accurately from him or not. That test would be reduced for you as this is something the project has wanted to do.
