The story of the kidnapping, how pretty she was, her flaming red hair, and that she was a princess seems to be complete fiction. Of all of my ancestors, she is the one with the most crazy stories. These seem to be regularly embellished in romanticizing her life with absolutely no evidence.

The leads I am looking into are:
1. Her husband William did not pay his own passage. He probably came as an indentured servant.
2. Many stories claim Honora was sold to her husband. Back in the 1980s, a distant cousin told me she had found the court records in which William Logsdon had purchased Honora's indentured servant contract. I believe these records were in Westminster, Carroll County, Maryland. However, they could have been in Baltimore or Annapolis. The researcher died before I got a copy. An indentured servant contract is a historical probability.
3. Burial is supposedly in Carroll County, Maryland.
4. Marriage banns, 1702 in Baltimore. I read this a lot, but haven't seen an actual picture of the record.
5. William Logsdon/Logsden. named in "The Early Settlers of Maryland", An Index to Names of Immigrants Compiled from Records of Land Patents, 1633-1680, in the Hall of Records, Annapolis, Maryland. So need the land patents. This is not records, but an index. Still need to get the record itself.
6. Look for indentured servant and ship arrivals from 1695 to 1702 as the most likely time to find Honora O'Flynn.

I have found out a bit more since I left the message, but would love to know more. I know that he married again after he left my mother in England, but don't know much more. I only found this entry today, but I do have information about Patrick O'flynn. I have already emailed Felicity, as her enquiry was first on the Google list, giving her some details about the person we all knew as Patrick (or Connor Patrick actually). I'm only sorry it has taken me 12 years to find your post on Ancestry. If you ever read this please contact me. Patrick was my uncle by marriage.

Kate, Louisa was Henry's mother, John his father. Henry (Sonny to his siblings)was my uncle. Norman, his brother was my father, he also had a brother Dom, sisters Irene, Lily, Georgena and Ginger. Henry was married to Frances. Henry lived in Conn and was in education. Does this sound like the folks you were looking for?

O'FLYNN Mark P. O'Flynn of Sandy Spring, Maryland, died peacefully Sunday, December 26, 2010, after suffering with A.L.S.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Joanne O'Flynn; children, Elliot O'Flynn and Zeke, Shawn (Tamara) O'Flynn, Elizabeth (Wil) Steppe; grandchildren, Jameson and Madison; siblings, Judy (Earl) Sunderland, Margaret (Charles) Pepper, Marilyn O'Flynn, Tim (Becky) O'Flynn, Rosie Wolfe and the late Mary Beth Nichols.

Mark was born in Middletown, OHIO, and worked most of his career with Columbia Gas in Columbus, OHIO, and Charleston, WV.

born in Cork, Ireland in the 20's. His mother may have remarried a Richard Couch. Had a brother Eddie or William, poss a sister, Mary. Lived at 89 Talbot Rd Westminster from 1952-60, and 54 Dawes Rd Fulham from 1960-66. Was friends with Tom McGuinness and Nobbie Madden (both still alive) in London. Worked on British Rail. 6' tall, dark hair, brown eyes.

She married a Joseph Owen in Dublin 1880.She was the daughter of William and Ellen Nee dowling and had one brother I know of was Charles.Her family and twins Daisy my grandmother and twin Mary and sister Nora came to Australia in 1883. Her father William was a station master . Would like to know anything of Mary my grt gran. Rona

daniel o'flynn was born in Ballahaderreen in 1881. He married a Mary Alice Waters from Dublin. The had 7 children. Maureen, celia (gran), joseph, daniel, valentine, gerard and eileen. The last 3 died young and are buried somewhere in ireland. Daniel went to america. i have letters from him in new york dated 1935 and 1947. he had a daughter called maureen.

If you go to the Flynn Family Forum on:

genforum.genealogy.com/flynn/

and look at Message Numbers: 1352 and 2507, it should get you started with information on Honora O'Flynn and William Logsdon.

I also checked on Genealogy.com and it appears that there is a lot of information on this couple by various researchers. From what I found, William was born in England abt 1633 and died abt 1740 in Maryland. Honora, born 1678-1688 (information varies by researcher) and died abt 1740, seems to have been kidnapped from Co. Kerry, brought to Maryland and sold as a bride to William. They married abt 1702-1705 (information varies by researcher).

I'm envious that my Flynn's weren't as colorful.

You probably mean she was born in 1861, not 1681.

No way to find any information in Ireland without parents names and specific birth location.

You need to do research in the US in her census, civil and church records before you can begin to try to find the family in Ireland.

There are no census records and no vital records for that time period. So you need to know the location to find her baptismal record in the church register.
