I'm looking for information on an O'Flaherty family from Roscahill, Co. Galway in the RC parishes of Killannin and Kilcummin/Oughterard. The earliest O'Flaherty I have is my gggf, Michael O'Flaherty who is recorded in Griffiths Valuation as renting 15 acres at Killannin from Robert Martin. Michael had at least 4 children whose names were Bridget O'Flaherty (c1849-3 Jan 1927), Edmund O'Flaherty (c1851), John O'Flaherty and Ellen O'Flaherty.
Bridget O'Flaherty was a National School Teacher who married another NS Teacher, Hugh Reynolds, in the RC Church at Killannin in 1879. They lived at Gortnagroagh, Roscahill after their marriage and had the following children: Mary Bridget Reynolds (30 Jan 1881-3 Feb 1927), John Joseph (6 Aug 1884-18 Aug 1884), Winifred, (Baptism, 31 Aug 1885), Sarah Angela, (7 Dec 1887-28 Dec 1964), Michael John, (16 Sep 1890-23 Mar 1976), Anne Marie (15 Jan 1893-30 May 1975).
Bridget O'Flaherty's brother, Edmond who was also recorded in official records as Edward married Mary Leonard (c1855), daughter of a farmer, Stephen Leonard, from Roscahill on 5 Oct 1889 at Killannin RC Church. Mary Leonard had at least 3 sisters, Ellen (c1851), Bridget (c1857) and Anne Leonard. Edmond and Mary had 3 sons whose names were: Michael Stephen O'Flaherty (3 Jan 1892), Stephen Joseph O'Flaherty (19 Aug 1893) and Patrick James O'Flaherty (21 Jul 1897) all of whom were baptised in the RC Parish of Kilcummin/Oughterard. Any information which anybody may have would be appreciated.
