I would like to connect with descendants of this family. My g-grandfather was Moses O'Farrell, brother to Patrick. I have additional O'Farrell information that may be useful in filling in the gaps in the family tree. Please post here or contact me off board.

Surnames: O'Farrell, Farrell
My great grandfather was Moses O'Farrell. I think he emigrated from Ireland to Canada in the 19th century. He later moved to Chicago. I never met him. My grandfather was Peter J. O'Farrell (later changed to Farrell).
I have a few bits of information about some of their descendants.

Moses O'Farrell is my great grandfather.
He emigrated to Monotreal, Canada prior to 1880.
My grandfather, Peter J. O'Farrell, was born in Montreal on 17 Jul 1880.
Moses moved to Chicago, Illinois prior to 1900 with family members.
Moses died in Chicago in 1923. His wife, Irene Dunne, died in Chicago in 1915.
My grandfather, Peter, married Geraldine Donegan, and had three children: Gerald, Thomas and Patricia. Geraldine died in 1914. The children were raised by their maternal grandmother, Louisa Kindorf.
My father is Thomas Joseph O'Farrell, B: 22 July 1911 Chicago , IL; D: 7 Oct 2002 in Waukesha, WI. He married Mable "Mae" Elizabeth Zeien. She was born 28 May 1910 and died recently in Waukesha on 27 Apr 2012, just one month short of her 102nd birthday.
They had five children: Mary Luoise, Thomas Paul, Richard John, Patricia Mae and Marguerite Ann, all living.
My daughter, Irene Meejong O'Farrell, chose to retain the O'Farrell surname after marriage. Her sons have taken their father's surname. However, much to my surprise, they named their older son Moses!

Sometime soon I hope to take Moses to the cemetery in Chicago where his namesake is buried.

In recent years I learned that Moses was from county Wexford, and that his father's name was William.

Please contact me if you need additional information. Since my father had little or no contact with his father, I have no information on the "south-side" O'Farrell's other than the burial locations of Moses and his son, Michael.

I believe one form of the name is Ballindagin. One site presents cemetaries named Ballindagin Old and Ballindagin, respectively.. Ballindagin is located about 10 miles west of Fern, Co. Wicklow. I wonder if Moses' family may have been living in this area. When and where was Moses married? When and where did he emigrate to Canada?
