I would be very interested in your information on the O'Fallon's since 1180. I am trying to piece together continuity from Irland, Spain and to Santiago Cuba, of the O'Fallon's. The O'Fallon's and Duany's were related. The first O'Fallon in Cuba (Santiago, Cuba) evidently was Ambrose Luis Duany O'Fallon, born in Sligo County in 1778 and died in Santiago, Cuba in 1738. His mother was Mary O'Fallon Briggs from Sligo County Ireland, his father was John Duany Lince. Mary O'Fallon's father was Andrew O'Fallon from Sligo County, Ireland.Evidently the Irish were known as mercenaries and my family probably fought on the side of France and Spain against England.

Thank you kindly, for any assistance of general or specific information about how the name of O'Fallon came to be and any lineage from Sligo County, Ireland. As a matter of fact, anything about the O'Fallon's interests me.

Thank you for your latest contact - re: your Andrew O'Fallon query?.
My programme-notes show a Lieutenant Andrew O'Fallon entry by Bishop James O'Fallon A.D.1763.
"Aodh son of Bryan succeeded as Lord of Clan Uada, descended in lineal descent the present Andrew O'Fallon of Lissagrehan, Esquire; Lieutenant in His Imperial Majesty's service; for whom this genealogical account has been drawn up. From the 14th: century to this time the O'Fallons frequently allied in marriage with the chief Irish families in Connaught.
William O'Fallon, who lived in the reigns of James 1 and Charles 1; he had by Lynch of Lideghan's (Lydican, Co. Galway) daughter, two sons; Stephan and Gregory who was Bishop of Meath (recte Clonmacnoise) & Almoner to King James 11.
Stephan, the elder son, who was married to his own relation, Anna O'Fallon from Galway, by whom he had Andrew O'Fallon".
It "rattles" along with further inconsequently data.
Probably of little help to your history-programme - but it does seem to show this Andrew to be somewhat a soldier of good fortune.
If I can help you in any way - pleas contact.
My kindest of good wishes.

Thank you for your interest - unfortunately, I have only O'fallon-history from mainly Roscommon & Athlone Counties - howver, I do have a Lieutenant Andrew O'Fallon of Lissagrehan who was an Officer in His Imperial Majesty's service - so perhaps this would provide you with a military lead to eventually leading to your Cuba family-connection?.
I do hope so!
I presume that you already have full knowledge of Dr James O'Fallon who servd as a surgeon in Washington's army - later becoming involved in land speculation that was claimed by both Spain and the Indians - perhaps he might provide a pointer in your direction?.
Kindest of regards-
Robert O'Fallon

Thank you kindly, for your assistance. I apologize for my late response. My schedule has not allowed me to make recent inquiries into my E-Mail. I would be very interested in knowing where you found the subject information and the means of access to said information. I have been going through the laborious process of collecting old photographs and documents from existing family.

Thank you again, for your assistance and I will reciprocate, in like kind, if I can be of assistance to you.

Re: O'Farrill.O'Fallon and Duany
Researching line of Duanys, from Ireland - to Spain - to Cuba - to Jamaica.
great great grandfather was Jose Duany from Santiago Cuba, went to Jamaica and owned plantations there. Several other family members lived, married had children and died in Jamaica. Any information would be appreciated.

If you go to Cuban Gen web - http://www.cubagenweb.org/ and look under passenger lists, you'll find Jose Duany.

Good Luck.
