Looking for information regarding Oechsner family. I think the fathers name was Andrew; mothers name, Ava. Joseph was born in Wonfurt, Unterfranken region of Bavaria, Germany on Aug. 7th, 1874. He came to the USA when he was 7. If you can help with infor, or tell me where to look-I would appreciate it. Can't find how they got from Germany to USA. Settled in St. Louis, Mo.

My sister Liz has some accurate notes in our family tree on my mother's side. She has a paragraph on a George J. Oechsner 6/24/1829 - June 3, 1899 and a Barbara Weiglein 4/19/1832 - 3/6/1913. They married in UnterFranken, Bavaria, and daughter Mary born (Mrs. Martin Weix ) Dec 23,1858. They came to North America near 1860 lived in Erie Pennsylvania for a year. The rest of children - George Paul born 2-19-1861; an ANDREW 1862-1954; Maggie(Koch) 1863; Kate (Wild) 1866; Barbara (Sperger) 1868; Joseph 1869; Hannah (Sperger) 1871; Carrie (Sauer) 1874. This is the family they think came to LeRoy, WI in fall of 1861. First cabin on property of Paul F. Goltry N.W 1/4,SE 1/4, Sec 16-13-16. Some records are at St. Theresa in Theresa, WI and a George J. and Barbara buried at St. Andrew's LeRoy WI, plus many other Oechsner's in WI area. I am from the New Orleans Oechsners. Do you have any links between the WI and LA Oechsners yet? My Great grandfather was George Daniel Oechsner, b.1876 Louisiana, but I think his father was from Baden-Wuttemberg, Germany, b. 1833/1835. Any info would be great.....
