Hi,

Just started working on my family tree. Appears that there is a Lawrence Ocamb who married Elizabeth ---
They lived in Kansas. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.... Lawrence's daughter Barbara Janice Ocamb is my grandmother and she had many siblings.

Kristin,
Henry & Hannah Ocamb had 9 children. Almeda - James - Birdie - Nora - Joseph - Ruth - Lawrence - Margret - Igetta.
So yes thier is a relation. Lawrence & Elizabeth had 6 children that I know of. Margett - Lawrance - Leonard - Almeate - Mildred - Barbara ( orignally not on my list but is now). I am working with a few other Ocamb's in creating our family tree. We are using the Family Tree Maker program to record our history. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me direct: wrocamb@aol.com, put something like Ocamb Family on the subject line. We all get so much junk email if I do not recognize the email address it gets deleted.
Thanks Kristin,

Walter

I am decended from Almeda Ocamb (married James Combs) and my wife is decended from James Ocamb. It makes an interesting twist to our family tree.

Any information on the Ocambs would be appreciated.

Well, that twist sounds like my family tree.
Walter and I have exchanged a few emails too.
I'm Mark O'Camb.... My father was John Arthur O'Camb (27-90) who married Stella Marie (Stephens) Minnie (27-98).. John was the second of five children to Howard Vane O'Camb (04-94) who married Mildred Minnie (?-66).... Howard was the son of Alfonzo L. O'Camb (?-?) who was married to Nellie Lalanne (?-?).....Not sure of the rest of Howard's siblings except that there was 6 of them. Alfonzo passed away about 1915/16 because Nellie then married Louis Marlow on August 21, 1916 and together they had 6 more children......
Note that my mother's maiden name was the same as my paternal grandmother's maiden name....but, this can be explained by my paternal grandmother's brother John Steven Minnie was the third husband of my maternal grandmother and in turn legally adopted my mother. My Mother's biological father was Lester Stephens who had passed away 2 years after my mother's birth in 1927......
I'm still trying to recover information I had on the other siblings of Howard Vane O'Camb from the old fashioned printed copies as my computer crash a few months ago and I didn't have my files backed up (now I'm backing up my data on CD's).....

Tim, try searching the files at the LDS website.
Some where, some how, I do believe all O'Camb's (no matter how you spell it - Ocamb, OCamb), we're related. You didn't give much information like places and dates of birth, dates of marriage, dates of death, and etc.
I noticed you're station in Virginia. How long have you been in the Army? I served in the Army and Reserves from 1972 to 1987. Please reply directly to my email (mo_in_ga@yahoo.com). Currently, I'm residing in Wisconsin but was born in Detroit, Michigan.

Jennifer, I found your message by looking on the Winterbottom surname board. Jane Francis Winterbottom's sister Agnes married a cousin of my father's, Charles Coony. I have the information on that Winterbottom family, if you would like it, back to when their grandparents were born in England, as well as some on the other siblings. If you would like to have it, please e-mail me. I will also e-mail this message to you, in hopes it will reach you sooner, in case you don't check the boards any oftener than I do.....LOL! I also have McChesney's parents names, but no dates.
