I was very interested in your comment that your Obornes left Canada after the War of 1812. My Obornes came to Quebec in 1831 and have believed that we were the 1st-and that all Obornes in Canada were descended from James O. and Mary (Young) O. who had 10 children to reach marriage. They came from Barton St. David in Somerset
There were earlier Obornes in Pennsylvania and the New York area in the 1600's and 1700's. Would yours have come to Canada from the U.S. or England-or both?
