Henry Oakley of VA (late 1700s)

Does anyone know anything about Henry Oakley of Culpeper, VA, who lived in the late 1700s? Though there were many Oakleys living in VA during this period, & even earlier (we've seen records listing Oakleys in VA well into the 1600s), we have yet to connect Henry to any other Oakleys.
We believe Henry to be the father of a later Henry Oakley, who married in Patrick Co., VA, & later moved to TN. The younger Henry was a veteran of the War of 1812.
The older Henry is listed on a tax form in Culpeper between 1782-87, but other documentation is very thin.
Would like to hear from anyone working on this family.
Thanks.

I don't know of Henry but there is a William Oakley listed in the 1810 & 1820 census in Culpepper County. So far I have not been able to connect this William with any of my Henrico County Oakley's thought I have wondered if he wasn't part of the family.
I think there is a good chance that the OAKLEYS listed in Henrico, Culpepper, and New Kent are related since we did find through DNA testing that the Henrico Oakley's are related to the Cumberland County Oakley's.
There is also a chance that the Culpepper group could be a branch from or related to George Oakley Loudon County, VA that later moved into KY & TN. Not much help I know . However Henry in Culpepper is a new one for my data--hope we can find the family!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it is very difficult to find information on Henry. We had seen William Oakley in the census you mentioned, and we've always believed that he was somehow connected.
We were aware of George Oakley's family, who had moved from VA to central TN, and have been trying for more than two years to connect them. We'll let you know if we ever connect them, or if we find more information on this elusive Henry.
