Any O'Raffertys out there descended from Patrick O'Rafferty of Derrynagrang, Culfadda, Sligo, bn. ca.1835? If so, I'm a cousin thru his wife Honora Hunt.

Pleased to meet you. Where do you live? I'm in Tacoma. If you can't find Uncle Bill, I can share what little I have.

Hi there,

I see your message is quite old, so I hope you are able to get this reply.

Patrick & Honora were my Great Grandparents. They had 4 sons, Thomas, Nicholas, James and John (born 1876). John was my grandfather and married Mary McCoy. Nichoas was a priest in Seattle, who wrote a few books and you can find various references to him on the web.

I'm fairly new to this genealogy, and have only got as far back as Patrick and Honora so far. I'm not sure where Patrick was born, but I know that John was born at Drumanaraher. Do you know where they were married?

My father seems to think that the Raffertys originated in Tyrone, but doesn't really know much more than that.

If you can go back further on either side, I'd be very interested to hear from you. my address is daveyraff(at)aol.com.

Regards,

David Rafferty
