Re: O'Prey from Belfast, Ireland
Hi Dave, As far as I can recall Jim was not born until 1913/14, he and my Mother Imelda O'Prey were 1st cousins and he was nearer the age of my Uncle Frank O'Prey who was born in 1914. If you look up the 1901 Irish Census which is now on line you will find that Jim's brother John and sister Mary are listed, as I said before John died as a young child, I have a phtograph of him and Mary taken around 1902. At one stage there were three O'Prey families living in Fleet Street, Francis, Henry and William all brothers. I too was brought up in Fleet Street and knew all your Sons brother and sister in-laws. You have the correct family but Jim's birth year is wrong. Hope this helps and if you need any more information please let me know.
Regards, Imelda

Re: O'Prey from Belfast, Ireland
Hi Stephen,
\not sure if youve seen my messages. but i feel there has to be a connection..
My Great Great GrandFather as i can best see.. Was John O'Prey. Im finding a hard time gathering the info if any on siblings and such.
his son (if correct) was
William John O'Prey.(County Down) My Great Grandfather Married to my Great Grandmother: Annie Mary O'Prey(maiden name Chirmside) from |New castle)
They lived on Fleet Street, and as i understahnd the men worked the boat yards.
William and Annie Mary O'Prey had 4 children
Anna Mary O'prey (B) April 1912 (My GrandMother) William O'Prey Samuel O'Prey Robert O'prey
All came to Canada in 1929
I am told there were 8 other children in this family. 2 died withing the 1st yr of birth. the rest i know nothing of..
Could there be a connection im wondering in your family. If so id dearly love to know.
