My grandmother, Jenny Nyboer Harthorn, was born in the Netherlands and died in Holland, MI. USA.

Did Jenny have a brother William? In my husbands family his granfathers sister married a William Nyboer. I don't know her first name yet but her maiden name is Groteler.
|
According to Jenny's obit she was survived by two brothers, Gerrit of Holland, MI, and Tom of Anderson, IN. No mention of a William, but that isn't much help. I have no idea what her parents names were nor how many brothers and sisters she had.

I've been researching my husbands family I ordered some obits. And one of his grandfathers sisters married a Nyboer. All of his family is from Michigan. His great grandfather came from Germany.

Lisa;
My great grandfather was John H. Nyboer married to Anna Mary Thyen. I did have some great aunt and uncle that lived in Michigan. I would like to find out if your husband is related to me.
Thanks, Carol

I found out I had the wrong spelling on Nyboer. It Nieboer. So I have a William Nieboer Married Elmira Groteler. I don't know if they had any children. William died in 1965. Elmira died 1989. Lisa

My father-in-law's name was Tom Nyboer. He had a sister, Jenny. They were from Assen, Netherlands and came to the US somewhere around 1906(?) If you have any info to share with me, I'd appreciate it.

If your Tom Nyboer lived in Indiana, we probably have a real 'hit'. Email me at janner4000@aol.com.

Re: Nijboer or Nyboer family
I am just starting to research the Nyboer name. My husband is Chuck Nyboer, his father was Tom Nyboer. The father came from Assen, Netherlands to America around 1906. I would love any information you have.
