My mother and I are also looking for the name "Nyas". The only connection that we have at the moment is there was a family that moved to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, from...we believe....south africa?!.
David Adolphus Nyas, father to five children. Married Janet Cummins. Eldest daughter Sarah, born 1896, 4th August.

If this information links up in any way with the information that you may have, please get in contact.

Hi,
I am also related to David Adolphus Nyas.
He was my great grandfather.
I have just begun looking into the ancestry and don't even know what my grandmothers first name was, or my grandads!
As David Adolphus had many daughters I can't be sure which one was my grandmother.
She married (as far as I know they married!) my grandfather, who's surname was Rossiter and they lived in Newcastle and Hazelrigg Northumberland.
I have just signed up so am not sure if I'm looking in the right places.
It's a long time since you posted this message, but I'd love to know if you ever found any more details.
Cheers.

Hi Dawn,
I am not a relative but I am researching the Rossiter line which connects to the Nyas family.

I am trying to connect a David H Rossiter born circa 1934 in the Castle Ward area with the Nyas family and with the main Rossiter family tree in the UK.

Unfortunately,I cannot find Rossiter-Nyas marriage to connect David and wondered if you could help please?

Hope that you can help.

Best wishes, ancuseruk

Hi Dawn,
By way of a followup, it looks like Harriet S C Eyas first married Samuel Thomas in 1919 and later married Robert Rossiter in 1927. Not sure what happened to Samuel or what children Robert & Harriet had.I'm thinking that David H Rossiter born 1934 in the Castle Ward area was their son but not sure if there were others.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes, ancuseruk
