Francis Michael Nugent was born on a farm in County Cork about 1820. That it was County Cork is oral tradition and not documented.
His parents were Michael Nugent and Christinia Broadburn.
He emigrated to Plain City, Ohio in 1842 on the vessel Fairfield. He gave his age as 23 and his occupation as farmer.
He married Isabella/Isabelle Gallaher, also from Ireland.
They had three surviving children: Eliza, Susan, and James.
He became a very successful farmer in Canaan Township south of Plain City.
A large group of his ancestors in America would be grateful for any information we could get from Ireland
