My father came here from Italy when he was a year old. His parents were both Italian. Some say the name was Notini and that the Notine came from someone coming from Alsase Lorraine. I did not know my grandfather who did work in NY and did do decorative sculpture work. I often get calls from people with the name of Notine but they have all been French Canadian. My father had only sisters. I believe my grandparents came from Milan and Genoa - don't know which came from where. Just thought I'd let you know.
