My grandmother was Mary Alice North, born in Sedalia, MO. Her birth mother was Harriet North Ferguson, who died when my grandmother was very young, and her birth father, James Ferguson left the children with Harriet's brother, William Henry North. William Henry North and his wife Ellena Watson North adopted my grandmother and her siblings. William Henry North's parents were Francis and Susan North who left Ohio circa 1850 and came to Missouri.
