Born in 1867 Mississippi , son Marvin born 1893 in AL.

I cannot get him "pinned down". I think I have looked so much I have confused myself.Ever do that?

I need to know from whence this dude came before I have a hissy fit. Family (whose memories are only of overheard child stories)THINK his wife was Jenie ??? 1872 Alabama.

I know for sure that Marvin is correct....it's the George I'm having trouble placing as his father.

You may be connected to us. We have a G W Norris in our line in Alabama, Tuscalooosa County. We are having our annual NORRIS-WILSON Reunion today in Samantha Community, Tuscaloosa County, Tuacaloosa, AL. You might try emailing my cousin Sandy at NORKIZZ@aol.com. I come from Thomas Jefferson Norris myself. These folks were all together here until just after the Civil War. I have had the DNA test done and have started putting some of my Tree on Ancestry.com. Jack P. Norris, Jr.

Jack,
Your Norris family is from John Norris SR? Who came out of South Carolina, moved to Kentucky and then into Tuscaloosa Co. AL? Am I correct? Can I also ask what company you went through for you DNA test and are the results back yet?

My great uncle Broc Norris submitted his DNA through FamilyTree DNA out of Houston, Texas. My fellow family of Norris researchers (who matched through DNA) have always wondered if there was a connection to your John Norris? About six families have matched my Norris line through the DNA testing.

My ggg-grandfather was born in South Carolina in 1807 so this would be very interesting information to have, even if we don't match it would help narrow down our search.
Thanks a lot,
Tracy

Yes, we came through S. C. but our Norris's were in Kentucky by 1800 and here by 1818 in Alabama. I had my DNA done through Ancestry.com.
