From "Citzens and Immigrants - South Carolina,1768" a list of passengers out of Charleston, S.C. listed on a document labeled "Marine Intelligence,"

Dec. 26th Arrivals at Charles-Town
on the Brigt. TORTOLA PACKET, Thomas Norris - From Barbadoes

Feb. 24th Arrivals at Charles-Town
on the Brigantine TORTOLO PACKET, Tho. Norris - From Barbados.

There are more records of Norris families living in Charles-Town (Charleston, S.C.)including a Robert Norris who was an English merchant who also traveled extensively in the late 1700's but who moved back to England and died there around the turn of the nineteenth century. I can't say for sure if he's related to the other Norris families there. George Norris Jr. (from Duplin Co.N.C.)and members of his family reside there briefly as well. I really haven't researched Charleston any further since I learned the Robert Norris that I wrote about was not likely directly related to my Norris family. But, there is more to look into in Charleston and you might want to start there?
