G'day Jill

Please contact me off-site at tnoakes@me.com and I'll send some details.

Just for starters:

Edwin, son of Edward and Sarah, baptised 6 June 1830 Catsfield, Ssx
married Ellen Jarrett 1 April 1860 Hastings St Clement and they had 7 children that I'm aware of, all with a given name beginning with the letter E. (Edward, Ellen, Emma, Edgar, Ernest, Edith and Emily)

His parents Edward Noakes and Sarah Sinden were married 2 April 1830 Catsfield Ssx and had 13 children that I know of with Edwin being 2nd born. I descend from their daughter Sarah (4th born).

Edward was born 1805 Ashburnham to Thomas Noakes / Elizabeth Pardon
Sarah was born 1809 Catsfield to Joseph Sinden / Mary Burgess

Best rgds
Trevor

Hi,
I am Simon Lloyd, brought up at The Gravel Pit (Farm), Ticehurst owned by the Noakes Family and descendants on and off since the 1750s until shortly before my mother died in Ticehurst in 2003. My brother lives in the old stables, now converted. My maternal grandmother was Marjory Reeves (nee Noakes). The name has died out in Ticehurst due to too many daughters and not enough sons, although descendants survive there. There is some confusion over the relationships amongst the numerous Noakes family members which I am trying to sort out. My line connects, I think, to that of William Noakes (1784-1862) through I am having some difficulty establishing exactly how, it could be va closer relationship than some suggest. I have found William's grave, hidden away, and that of his third wife Mary (nee Collens) who died in the same year. He previously married Sarah Sawyer (1807) and Ann Edwards Tompsett (1810), both leaving him a widower. I will email you.
Best wishes,
Simon.
