Hi Joanne

I stumbled upon your 2007 request tonight (NZ time).

I am a very distant descendant of Mercy Noakes as follows:

Mercy married William Davis and they had a child called William Davis in 1766. He and his wife Ann had a son called George Davis in 1803. George and his wife Mary Ann had a daughter called Harriet Davis in 1840. The family immigrated to Australia in 1856. Harriet married Charles Hermann in 1858 and had a son called Arthur in 1861. Arthur and his wife Elizabeth had a daughter called Ada.

Ada was my Great Grandmother and I remember meeting her at the age of 3 in hospital the week before she died) Ada had married Charles Henry Butcher in 1921 and they moved to Nelson in New Zealand, where they had my Grandad Charles Stanley Butcher (Stan) in 1923. Stan is still alive today and we have good contact. His second of three daughters , Sue, is my Mum. I was born in 1968.

Cheers
