My gr-grandma, Kari Njos [1844-1906], is one of 4 in my files. My family always debated whether her name was Njos or Lindborg or Oldsdatter. Her parents were Ole Oleson Lindborg Njos [1809-1906] and Gjertrude Johannesdtr. Amla [1820-1906] both of whom lived and died in Norway. Kari married Christ [C.O.] Esse [1845-1929] in 1870 in Norway Grove, Dane co., WI. Not sure of the circumstances by which Kari to USA. Other Kari Njos' lived 1837-?; 1826-1892 & 1834-1917. Would like to share information. Thanks, Rob

Some where in "this" site is the ability to use the name njos or anyother name for that matter to to find social security #'s, dates of birth and dates of death. I have not looked under njos in any other state other than Minnesota. As I said my gr-great grandfather setteled in Adams, Minnesota (mower county) and the fmaily has been around here ever since. My family history is in the posession of my son right now and I will be getting it back in a couple of days. A Cousin of mine did a lot of research and there is a binder of information that I will try to get to you somehow if it is relevent. When my gr-gr-grandfather came to the U.S. if I remember right he first went to some place in Wis. and then came to Mn. Let me get a look at the records and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for the shout.Joe Mills

Thanks, Joe. I should have mentioned that my Kari came to the USA in either 1867 or 1868 and settled in Dane co., WI. Looking forward to seeing what you can find out.
Judy Ruth of Georgia has a Kari Njos for a grandmother, too. I will forward our notes to her and see if she can add to the fun.
