The Leikanger bygdebok lists a Solveig Njos born 1834, parents Einar Tomasson and Kari Eriksdatter Njos. Solveig and her sister Kari went to America in 1867

My Kari had sisters Sesilie, Gjertrud & Anna, that I am aware of...no Solveig. Have two dates for her emigration, 1867 & 1868, some confusion it appears as to which Kari is which <g> Would be fun to sort it out :-) Rob

Njos, Tomasson, Eriksdatter
Thanks to Wilda. Is there more info on the Einar Tomasson and Kari Eriksdatter Njos families? Thanks again. Dan, mcfarlin@community.net

Both Einar Tomasson Njos, 1798-1862 and Kari Eriksdatter Njos, 1802-61 have ancestral lines that go way back. Both are related to me. Their children are Anna 1827, Tomas 1829-32, Erik 1831, Kari 1832, Solveig 1834, Tomas 1837, Erik 1840, Brita 1843-5. Does this seem as if it is your family? I can send the ancestral lines later if it is. Wilda

I was doing some surfing and saw this site. My family name goes back to Nowary's Njos. My G-Pa told me about the name many years ago and kind of forgot about it. If you are still active on this site, let me know.

I haven't been to this site in ages. Sorry. But I am still doing genealogical searches. I have 3 people named Kari Njos in my data base. And 41 people with the Njos surname. Njos is a faily common farm name. I'd be happy to exchange infor with you if you are interested. robesse@wildblue.net
