Rose D. Niquette, 1925-2009
Rose D. Niquette, 83, of Nashua, a longtime resident of this city, died Saturday afternoon, May 30, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a brief illness.
A daughter of the late Alphonse and Valida (Berthiaume) Niquette, Rose was born in St. Nazaire, Quebec, Canada on August 29, 1925. Miss Niquette came to Nashua as an infant in October of 1925 and attended the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School.
Rose had been employed with Brockway Plastics, Inc. of Nashua for several years and previously worked at the former J.F. McElwain Shoe Company. Miss Niquette was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church and the former St. Francis Xavier Church for many years.
Rose loved the outdoors and riding her scooter. She also enjoyed her home and spending time with her family.
One of eleven children, Rose was predeceased by seven brothers, Lucien, Adelard, Aristide, George, Leo Paul, Henry and Irenee “Rene” Niquette; and two sisters, Angeline Breault and Cecile Charest.
Members of her family include a sister and brother-in-law, Irene M. and Robert Constant of Nashua; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline C. Niquette (widow of Irenee) of Nashua; a brother-in-law, Roland A. Breault of Nashua; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend and are asked to gather at the church.
