Dale, I'm in Salt Lake City right now and have been searching the brothers you mentioned from McHenry, IL. I believe the oldest son of Peter Niesen from McHenry was our ancestor. I'm still working on enough evidence of that but it's fitting together. It appears so far that our John Niesen, son of Peter, moved to Manistee County, MI. His brothers and sisters appear to have remained in Kenosha, Wisconsin. John and a brother Peter were born in Minnesota between 1855-1860. I think that baby Peter died. In 1857 the family (Peter, Catherine and children) are in MN, then in 1861 they are in McHenry, IL. Two children were born in McHenry & baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in the 1860's. The rest were born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where Peter & family can be found until 1900 at least. BTW, Peter's wife was Catherine Jans, Matthias married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rothamel, and there was a sister Christina who married Simon Weingart in 1860 - all at McHenry. I'm still working but does any of this sound familiar with your own family? Len
