Searching for information on Emma Nickols/Nichols born ca 1875 in Alabama, daughter of David H. “Doc” Nickols (1848-1907) and Jane P. Atkins (1852-?). Last certain record found is 1900 U.S. Census for Girard, Russell, Alabama. Father’s 1907 obituary (died in Girard) lists Mrs. Emma Mathis among the surviving children. Found a transcript of a 1905 Russell County, Alabama marriage record for Emma Nickols and J.W. Matthews on familysearch.org. Found the following U.S. Census records that might be Emma and her family:

1910 – Atwater, Upson, Georgia - James W. Matthews, wife Emma (b ca 1878, Alabama), and children James Alvin (b ca 1907) and Mattie Lee (b 1910)

1920 – Amboy, Turner, Georgia - James W. Mathis, wife Emma (b ca 1875, Alabama), and children Alvin (b ca 1907) and Mattie Lee (b 1910)

1930 – Military District 561, Upson, Georgia – William J Mathewes, wife Dara, children Alvin J (b ca 1907) and Mattie L Barnett (b 1910), and son-in-law Marvin J. Barnett. The household includes two step-children, last name Ward; it would appear that Emma died between 1920 and 1930 and her husband remarried.

Would like to find confirmation that the above census records are or are not for the family of Emma Nickols, daughter of D. H. Nickols and Jane Atkins. Would also like to know when Emma died and where she is buried. Thanks for any assistance.
