Am new to this specific rootsweb board, as I am now able to devote some time to extension of my NEWMAN line back to our immigrant WALTER NEWMAN (1655-ca. 1929). Right now, I am "stuck" in verifying the parents of my THOMAS NEWMAN (d. 1806 in Salem County SC). Have been told his parents were SAMUEL NEWMAN (1735-1795) and EVE CASTLEBERRY (1738-1794), but all websites do not show a Thomas as being one of their children.

There are so many of you that are far more knowledgable than I am. Could you NEWMAN "cognoscente" be so kind as to guide me? Thanks very much in advance.
