Hi I am looking for a connection with the Nelsons in Dalry to a James Nelson b around 1800 and his wife Annie(Annam)Doyle(from Ireland) and sons Michael and Peter.

Their childern have married into Kilpatricks and McCann both fron Dalry.

I'm looking for information on the parents of Dorcas Nelson. She was born October 1815 in Oneida County, New York, and married John Henry Letson. John Nelson of Warren, Maine & Reading, Massachusetts late 1700s.

Looking for information on a John Nelson born in Scotland, lived in Warren, Maine, married Anna Crawford about 1775, then moved to Reading, Massachusetts sometime between 1788-1791.

He was a peddler by trade and when the war interrupted his business he sided with the British.

They had ten children, the first six born in Warren, Maine the last four born in Reading:

He and his family are possibly buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Reading but have not been unable to confirm that.

I wonder if your Nelson's may have immigrated from Finland.

My g grandfather, grandfather were both born in Finland(Kivijarvi) and immigrated to USA, settling in Quincy MA.

Alfred Nelson m Sylvia M Piispanen, and had my dad who was born in Quincy MA.

I have been trying to trace Frank's parents and any sibblings and have no luck at all on that.

Unfortunately, I don't think the two are the same as I have located mine in Franklin County, District 3 in 1880 when he was newly married. The brothers of Hector Henry, Frasier and Henry Nelson, might be possible leads though for the father of my John Adams Nelson though. Do you know anything about them? Thanks for your help. I finally found my Major John Nelson! He was one of the 11 children of Robert and Alice Nelson:

Major John Nelson, born 1753 VA or NC, died 1819. His original NC homestead was on Catawba River, out from
Charlotte NC on an old wagon road at Tuckasegee Fords. John married in Mecklenburg Co NC in 1782 to Nancy Ware Hunter (born 1764 Charlotte NC; died of yellow fever in 1813). John was a Major in the NC 4th Regiment in the Rev. War and received 4,800 acres in Williamson Co TN for his service. John settled in the Triune area of the 18th District of
Williamson Co TN about 1785. John Nelson named his TN settlement Nelsonville and laid out a town there that never developed. Later he sold the remaining land and moved to Montgomery Co TN, then in 1806 to Greenville District in New Feliciann LA on the Mississippi River near St. Francisville, where he had 1300 arpents of land. After John’s death in 1819, his bounty land warrant was assigned in 1833 to his son Alexander. One of the Major's sisters was Elizabeth Ann Nelson (married Ben McFarland) and one of the Major's daughters was Caroline Matilda Nelson. This mystery is solved, but I still can't figure out how they are kin to my Sarah Nelson or my Rev. William Murphy as yet. If you have any clues, please pass them along. Thanks.

I've been curious about Delight THOMAS who married Denison PALMER. She was b. 1774 in Lebanon, CT and died 1855, of Hudson, Lenawee County, MI, and buried at Goodrich Cemetery in nearby Hillsdale County MI. I have THOMAS relation from the surrounding area and wondered if she could be connected to my line.

We had a lot of mistakes in this genealogy. His name was Nils Jönsson not Nelson. He was born 11 August 1799 at Assarum, Blekinge, Sweden. He died 1879 at Asarum, Blekinge, Sweden.
Botil [Botilda Nilsdotter born 13 July 1803 Asarum, Blekinge, Sweden and died 1884 Asarum, Blekinge, Sweden.

My father, Fred Nelson died in 1960. My stepmother gave my father's family bible to my cousin, who died several years ago. I believe that my cousin sold the bible sometime in the 1960's. I would like to find that bible.

Gerald, Lester, and AC were all WWII Army veterans. Gerald won a Bronze Star as well as 5 campaign stars and was there at D-Day.

There was also another sister who died in a car accident and I have yet to get her name. Not sure if she is one of the possible children or another I haven't discovered.

In DNA researches you need male descendants? Is that correct? My family tree includes the Leonard Nelson you are referring to. He is my gggrandfather. Leonard T, Ansel, James L, Alonzo Cornelius: This is the line of my Nelsons. Alonzo Had 5 daughters and one son(my father). My father had one son also.

The unfortunate part is that my brother is astranged from the family. We haven't spoken in quite some time. I would like to help with the DNA project. I could possible give you his contact information.

My brick wall is my GGGgf Alexander Nelson, born in the Carolinas in 1775, moved to the Macon GA(Twiggs Co.) area in the eaely 1800's and died in Stewart Co. GA in 1835. He was a substantial planter.
Alexander's wife was Sarah Collins Nelson. They had 11 children, including Elizabeth, Matilda and a grand-daughter named Nancy. If any of this crosses your info, please let me know.

I'm looking for my great-grandfather's family. His name is John Adams Nelson, born 1859 in Lincoln, TN. I think I found his family in 1860 census in Franklin County but no father is listed even though mother is listed as married. Three older sisters are also listed. Cannot find any of his family. Possibly could have gone to New Market, AL sometime before 1880 when he shows up again in Franklin County married to my great-grandmother.
