Frank "Nikkarikoski" Nelson, married Maria "Nikula" Nikkarikoski. They had a son Alfred born in Finland Sept 11 1888,. Family immigrated at some point , settled in Quincy MA. There, they may have had another son Hjalmar.

Frank and Maria brought (or she was sent) their 8 year old niece Tyyne Maria "Nikkarikoski"Nelson to live with them about 1912. She supposedly traveled alone, and had been an orphan, but I found information(right or wrong) stating that her mother was Hilma Nikkarikoski and there was an Hilma that immigrated to Quincy, so I'm utterly confused. Who were Tyyne parents? Tyyne later married Hemmi Laakso. and had 3 children. Lived in Quincy Ma.

Alfred Nelson married Sylvia Maria Piispanen, and they had one son Arvo Alfred. Sylvia was born Feb 17, 1888 in Kivijarvi Finland to Lauri Piispanen and Karoline Kinnunen. Her siblings were : Einar(1882) Wilho(Vilheim-changed to William in US) Aliina Elviira , Impi Johanna. I'd love to learn what became of Einar, Wilho(William), Aliina. I know Impi married Onni J Jutila and after marrying in Quincy and having Ella and Edwin, moved to Ct, had two more sons Fred and James.
Sylvia and her siblings also had 2 older half siblings from Lauri first marriage to Eva Kinnunen(she died in the summer of 1881 and Lauri married Caroline that Nov). Their names were Werna Pauliina(the only one of all of them that stayed in Finland where she died in 1933) and Juho Rikkard. What became of him? I believe he to chagned his name to John Richard in USA. Caroline/Karoline, died in 1896 , 3 years after Lauri left to USA. where he settled in Quincy Ma. He married his 3rd wife Susan Larson in 1898, and in 1899 Einar and Juho immigrated, and in 1900 the others all joined Lauri and Susan, along with Susan's son from a previous marriage , his name was John, he, I think was born kin the 1878 time frame in Finland.

My main interest is the Nikkiarikoski/Nelson confustion.
I don't understand Frank and Maria relationsheip. Had they been cousins? Don't know why on my grandfathers marriage certificate when he married Sylvia her name appears as Maria Nikula.
How can I find out who Susan's first husband was, who her parents were, if she had siblings etc. Also Where are Susan and Lauri buried. Sylvia, Alfred, and their son Arvo(my dad) are all buried at Mt Wollaston, in Quincy, but haven't been able to find Susan, or Lauri, there I know Susan was born in Finland, but don't know her maiden name etc.

Sorry to be so long winded,. I don't expect one person to answer all/any of these issues, but if someone/s can try to tackle at least one of them I'd appreciate it. so very very much.
Does anyone know if the surname Nikkarikosi, could have been shortend to Koski? That would help on another issue I have.
