I have a Lulu (or Lula) may Naab born 12/21/1985 died 6/25/1984 her father is Peter Naab born 3/6/1869 died 3/13/1963. His father is Jacob Naab born in 1831 and died in 1899. This family is from Irland and can be traced to Illinois and New Jersey. Lulu was my great grandma and I'm trying to go back further. Please e-mail me and put in subject line (Naab family). Lula was the daughter of Peter and Grace Naab. Peter had 4 children Lula, Bessie, Ruth, and Harold. Lula married Carm Bounds. Bessie married Jay Ervin. Ruth married Willard Rosebraugh. Harold married Opal Bostic. Lula and Carm had Richard, Elma, Billy, Jack, Vonnie, and Sharon. Bessie and Jay had Eula, Norma Jean, and Rosmand Dale. Harold and Opal had Alberta, Harold, Patricia, Rita, and my father Leslie. Peter and Grace were my Great Grandfather and Grandmother. I knew both of them. They died when I was about 10 years old. I spent a lot of time on their farm in Illinois. Both Peter and Grace were short people but had TALL kids. Harold was about 6'6". My aunt Patricia is 6'2" as is my father, Leslie.
Peter had 3 brothers, Adam, Henry, and I can't remember the other one, I guess I need to ask Dad. They were the children of Jacob Naab who I believe married Catherine. Jacob was the son of Joseph Naab who also married a Catherine. Harold Naab, my grandfather, drove the Budweiser 8 horse team. Most of the old pictures you see of the Budweiser wagon has Harold Naab on it. There were two drivers a short guy and a tall one. Grandpa was the tall one. He also owned the Dalmation that started traveling on the wagon in the 1950's. Before the Dalmations, Grandpa had a Chimpanze which became violent and had tome removed from the wagon. If you can add more to this I would be interested. Hope this helps.

Actually, Lula (or LULU) first married Eugene Leroy Riley (Roy Riley) and they had Richard (my Grandfather) and Elma and a set of twins (Katherine and Kathleen. The twins were born and died in 1919. I do not know how or why the twins died or if they were still-born or not. Then Lulu married George Carm (the Colonel) Bounds. Lulu and George had William Duane, Mary LaVonne (aka LaVonne), John Carm, and Sharon Lynne. Richard and Elma used the "Bounds" last name from the marriage on but were never legally adopted. Do you have any other information going further back?? Could you also send me the information (full names, dates, spouses, and kids names) from your family tree. I would really appriciate it. My mom, sister and I are looking for our ancestors but also for "cousins" and such that are still living. You can e-mail me at jrbakplus4@mercurylink.net. Thank you Renee (Bounds) Bak

Thanks for your information. I didn't have any other children except Lulu. The information I have is Peter Fred Naab (lulu's father) married a Laura "Grace" Epperson. Peter's Father was Jacob Naab and mother Possibly Sophie Schrauk. Jacob's father was Joseph Peter Naab whom married Catherine. I have dates for most if you're interested.(if you don't have already). My grandfather (Richard Frances Riley-Bounds) passed away in 1976, William Duane Bounds died in 1991 but Elma Riley-Bounds, Mary LaVonne (aka LaVonne) Bounds, John Carm Bounds, and Sharon Bounds are all still living. Just let me know. Thanks---Renee (Bounds) Bak.

I have done a lot of research on the NAAB family with much help from a friend in Germany. Your Peter Naab was the son of Jacob NAAB & Sophia SCHRACK. They were married about 1864 and had twin sons who were born and died in March 1865 in Summit Twp. Effingham Co. IL..

Other sons born to Jacob and Sophia were Adam b: Feb 6, 1867; Peter Fred b: March 6, 1869; Henry b: abt 1872. All were born in Effingham Co. IL
Sophia died May 12, 1872 in Effingham Co. IL

Jacob NAAB married a second time. This was to Fredrike BURKHOLZ . They had three children, Martha, Frederick and Albert.

Jacob NAAB was born December 12, 1829 in Schwabsburg, Germany to Jost Peter NAAB and Eva Catherine FRANK. Jacob died February 14, 1899 in Effingham Co. IL.

Jost Peter Naab had a brother Peter who married Eva Catherine Borngasser. Jost Peter and Peter were two of 8 children born to Johann Peter NAAB and Anna Christina Bingenheimer.

We have visited the village of Schwabsburg many times and there is still very distant relatives living in the village.

My family goes back to the late 1500's in Schwabsburg.

Hope this is some of the information you are looking for. To post more would probably be confusing.

Was your Jacob Naab b. 1829 in Schwabsburg possibly a brother to my Peter Naab b. 1815 in Schwabsburg? When did Jacob immigrate to the states? Peter came to Wisconsin between 1840-1850 with his two brothers and settled in Lodi, Wisconsin. I'm sure one of the brothers was named Jacob. The names Jacob, Fred, Peter, Adam and Eva are thick in our family.

I'm looking for an Anna Naab, born 19 Dec 1845, married in Chicago to Philip Erby, and died in Chicago in 1914. She is the daughter of Peter and Katherine Naab of Germany. Does this fit into any of your research? If so please email me djones@keystone-media.com
