Looking for James, George, Charles, Lilian Myalls families
I'm trying to find any relations of George Myalls b: 1850 and James Myalls b: 1866, both were born in Dorset as well as Charles Myalls b: 1857 and Lilian Myalls b: 1876 both of them were born in Essex. Myalls is not a common name and I believe Albert Myalls b: Aug. 1838 in East Stour, Dorset might be related.

Hello Joyce I have been looking for any family relation sof Albert Myalls since May 2005. The record of his death in Coomb's Cove, Newfoundland, Canada states he was born Aug. 14, 1838 in East Stour, Dorset, England. I have had a very difficult time finding his family because the name seems to get spelled in various ways such as Myles or Miles. We will be visiting a living relative next month and she said he was emphatic that the proper spelling of his name was Myalls. He stowed away on a ship in 1855 with another younger lad William Reeves who was only 13 at the time. They were put ashore on the south coast of Newfoundland and got a job as fishermen with Richard Vallis. Both Albert Myalls and Wiliam Reeves maried daughters of Richard Vallis and started their families in Coomb's Cove. Albert married Elizabeth Valis and they had 7 children, Maria Jane, Margaret Ann, John Henry, Albert, Emily, Amelia Frances and William Quinton. Does any of this ring a bell with you? I was wondering if he may have named one of his daughters Emily after a sister!! I hope so. best wishes Bob

Dear Sancha What a nice surprise to receive an email from a Myalls. Albert Myalls was born Aug. 14, 1838 in East Stour Dorset. He married Elizabeth Vallis in Coomb's Cove Newfoundland Canada and died June 2, 1930 in Coomb's Cove. They had 7 children: Maria Jane born Apr. 16, 1871 and died Apr. 26, 1964 in Coomb's Cove. Margaret Ann born May 4, 1874 in Coomb's Cove. John Henry born 1876 in Coomb's Cove. Albert born 1879 in Coomb's Cove Emily born Sept. 1882 in Coomb's Cove Amelia Frances born Jan. 18, 1887 in Coomb's Cove William Quinton born Aug. 1893 in Coomb's Cove. I haven't had any luck going through the 1851 England Censu and Albert wasn't in England in 1861. In 1855, at the age of 16 he and another lad, William Reeves age 13 were stowaways in a ship to Newfoundland and they were put ashore in Fox Cove, near Coomb's Cove, and that's where they settled and my wife is decended from them. I appreciate any information when can find as one of Albert's descendents is 87 years old and has always had a desire to find out more about him and where he came from. All the best. Bob

Hi Bob
Have been doing a bit of hunting around for Albert's birth. His baptism doesn't appear in East Stour or in West Stour or Stour Provost. I wondered where you got the date of birth from. I live in Essex, England and my maiden name was Myall. I do go down to Dorset a couple of times each year to do research on my mother's side of the family. My "Myall's" all come from Essex but as it is an unusual name (apparantly comes from the Norman French for Michael and originates in Mont St Michel in Normandy)I do try to follow up other Myall's whenever I find them. (My Myall is spelt without the "s"). If I can be of any help please let me know.
best wishes

Hello, I dont know if you still use this site but if you get this, my name is Jeremy Myalls and i have tried to reasearch into this my self and this is what i found. My fathers name is Joeseph Myalls (3 sons), who is son of Albert Myalls who died in 1988 (married to Lillian Myalls[born 1930] and they have 4 children), who is son of Walter Myalls (married to Mirtle Myalls), who is son of Albert Myalls who drowned in 1922 while out at sea. Im only 17 and i realize this is hard to read but read it carefully because i belive the Albert Myalls your talking about is my great great grandfather, because our Myalls family tree goes back to Newfoundland.
