Yes, this is the same family. Their son John Henry (Jack) married my cousin Nannie Mae Tipps. Jack and Nannie Mae use to come down every sommer and visit with my family. Jack was a great guy with a good sense of homor.
I was very close with their oldest daughter Catherine Tipps Pierce. Cathy was born 22 Dec 1941 and died 14 Apr 1990. I chat online with her oldest daughter Cindy Pierce Hyatt almost daily. Cathy had 3 daughters Cynthia (Cindy), Colleen, and Connie. Connie was named after me.
