I have relatives that were Murphys in Green County, Alabama but they are African American. Are yours also. If so i can give you some names of them to see if you know of them.

Hi my grandfather was George Washington Murphy. He was married twice, 1st wife was Mary Jane Allen they had five children as far as I know Cannie who married Zaharrah Graham, Leonoa I don't know who she married, Lizza married John Holder, George (Budda) married Sis Dees and Alex who married Mary Freeman.
His 2nd wife was Leacy Williams who was my grandmother they had five children also Willis A.( My father) , Lena, Dolly, Ernest and JZ. I have more information on this family if you are interested.
