Re: Denis Mulqueeny Ireland KY OH MN

I am a great-great-grandchild of Denis MulQueeny and he did indeed settle down in French Lake, Minnesota. James, his son, is my great-grandfather and his second eldest son, Clarence (Born: 2/14/1893 Died: 12/28/1944) is my grandfather. Clarence had four brothers and a sister who died in infancy-in birth order:
Frances (Frank), Clarence Valentine, Ethel, Howard Dennis, James, Jr., and Raymond. I am attaching a brief genealogy written by my grandmother, Pearl Rousseau Mulqueeny, which gives birth and death dates and occupations and causes of death.

My late father, Gordon Clarence Mulqueeny (Born: 9-17-1926 Died: 11-4-2011) is James' only grandchild and grew up in nearby Buffalo, Minnesota. I am the fourth of Gordon's nine children (the second died shortly after birth so there were eight of us growing up.) I remember him mentioning his Figge (he pronounced it "Figgy") cousins. I don't know more than that and I don't know anything about Bridget. I no longer live in Minnesota, but get back a few times a year and have been trying to learn more about the Mulqueenys. I am also attaching a photo a friend of my brother's took on a 1989 trip to Ireland of an abandoned home in "Lower Tullagha, KilGlade, Clare, Ireland" that he was told had belonged to Denis Mulqueeny's family in Ireland.
I hope this adds to your information and would enjoy learning more about Ellen's wing of the family.

I believe that my gr grandfather, William Kinnear, married an Adelia Mulqueeney in 1902? and had children, but not sure how many. My father was Cecil Thomas Kinnear, and his father was James Kinnear. I'm not sure if his mother was Adelia or the previous wife who died just after arriving from Scotland. Would you know any of this history? Would love to confirm the information I've received. Thank you so much,
Diane Scully (born Isobelle Kinnear)

I am looking for information on my great great grandfather Denis Mulqueeny (1822-1912) who I believe was born in County Clare, IR and passed away near French Lake MN. He was married to Margaet O'Connell (1826-1899) who I believe was born in Galway and also passed away in French Lake. They had 3 children, James Ellen and Bridget. Ellen is my great grand mother and she married a gentleman named John Figge. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Kerrie,
My great-great grandparents arrived from Ireland in 1852 and the family settled around southern Victoria. Their names were Patrick and Margaret MULQUEENEY, from County Clare.
Patrick and Margaret's children who accompanied them were John, Edward, Patrick, Bridget, Mary, Jane and Ann. Another son was born in Australia. His name was Michael. He was my great grandfather's brother. I was told by one of Michael's sons, (also named Michael and contemporary with my grandfather), that his father had dropped the "e" from the spelling of the surname.
Michael lived in the Clunes district.
