Thanks. I think your suggestion to look for "our" David D. Mullins in the VA militia under command of William Campbell is worth pursuing. I have also reached conclusion that "our" David Mullin is not the one who served in the 14th VA Reg. Someone sent me a link to his (the Goochland David Mullins) tombstone recently and I guess who ever buried him (or put the marker on his grave!) had figured out they had the right one (maybe!). Seriously, I am pretty sure they were right also. I wish I could trace the source of this internet stuff describing him as under Tarleton, at Kings Mountain, hard drinking religious man. It is hard to research him when that stuff keeps turning up (even on findagrave.com). If I can ever figure that out, i will try to post it here. I know that there are a number of us descendents of "this" David D. Mullins who want to get it straightened out.
