Justus Mullinex was married to Hannah L. Baldwin. Justus and Hannah's son Jason Gould was married to Albina Loomis. He was called "Gould" during his lifetime, not "Jason". Gould and 'Bina were my great-grandparents. Their daughter Mildred married Gilbert N. Clark, and my dad, Roger Gould Clark, was their only child. My dad expressed curiosity as to where the name "Gould" came into the family.

Please see my Reply to (my daughter) Leigh R. Sickler - she confused Justus with Jason. Also, Abington PA is down near Philadelphia. Justus Mullinex and wife Hannah Baldwin lived in Abington TOWNSHIP, Lackawanna County, which is north of Scranton. A lot of people have confused these two locations.

Leigh's Mom speaks: That's Abington TOWNSHIP, Lackawanna County, PA, not Abington PA. Sorry, Leigh, you skidded past one generation. Here's the general run of it. JUSTUS and Hannah L. Baldwin MULLINEX were the parents of both JASON Gould Mullinex and JUDSON S. Mullinex. (Jason was known as "Gould" during his lifetime, but for simplicity I'll use his first name.) JASON was the one married to Albina Loomis, and their youngest daughter was my paternal grandmother. Through Jason, Justus is my great-great-grandfather. JUDSON was married to Fayette Ridgeway, and their son John Wilson M. was my mother's grandfather. So through JUDSON, Justus was my great-great-great-grandfather. John Wilson and wife Lillian Clarinda Wheeler are buried in Clark's Green Cemetery, and the name on the stone is spelled "Molyneaux". I could never get a clear answer about when (or why) the name was changed from Mullinex to Molyneaux.

The Justus Mullinex/Molyneaux family lived in the Abington Township, Lackawanna County PA, area, NOT ABINGTON PA. You need to make sure whether place names are actually townships. Benton Township is another one - it is in Lackawanna County, also, but Benton PA is west by a hundred or so miles.
Personal information about me and my wife Vada Plotts has been posted on ancestry. I am very unhappy - and frankly appalled - that this information is generally available by way of any of the search engines and want that information removed. It is totally improper to post personal information about living individuals in family histories on the web - ancestry or otherwise.

I really wish that people who put this personal info would find out whether it is proper or not. I have been researching family histories for more than 20 years and would NEVER post personal information about someone living.

Ed Kelly

Just a couple quick notes
Althea Battin should be spelled Aletha. Her husband was Patrick Kelley with an '-ey' (my father). Their sons are Scott Eugene Kelley (me)(2/21/1967-pres) and Jack Edward Kelley (5/21/1971-pres). Aletha then married Robert Jay Mann from Lock Haven (where her mother Meryl Battin's one address is listed in Lock Haven from where my mom was taking care of her.

I live in Phoenix, AZ, as does Jack, although I'm currently in the Army in Afghanistan. My son Chad Everett Kelley (b 1/21/1990) lives in AZ and will be here in Afgh in the Army in a couple weeks as well.

I am a relative of Samuel Mullinex. He died in Shellsburg, Benton County, Iowa. I have not been able to connect my Samuel to Fay's Jarvis but we have corresponded about it several years ago. I am still looking for proof of my Samuel's parents. Mary O is listed as Samuel's daughter born about 1844. My great-grandfather was Samuel's son, Richard. I think Mary lived around Milledgeville, IL. If you are a relative of my Samuel I would be glad to correspond with you. I have much info as I have collected info since 1970's.
Marilyn My e-mail is marenjack@aol.com

Yes, they moved to Montrose County, then in 1913 to Gateway in Mesa County,Edgar Jason Mullineaux was killed in a saw mill accident 07 Feb 1928 at Gateway,CO. I have a book that has pictures of them if you like I can scan it. My aunt probably has the originals but she is getting up there in years and I would not like to impose upon her too much.I am working on her husbands ancestry and have them all up to Justus but can't find out who his father was.

I ran into someone who had Hannah Baldwin's parents. There is some speculation as to whether Justus father was Jessie or Isreal ... I will have to see if I can find where I wrote it down.

There is alot on Simon on a website from Sullivan County, PA where he lived. One of the families is named Bird. Look under PA Genweb or Roots.com and look under Sullivan County. It should be in there.

Leigh

Ed Molyneaux (that's how Grandma spelled it in the family Bible) was the brother of my Great Grandmother, Mildred Augusta Molyneaux. I have a Photograph of Albina in her old age. Albina and Jason had Mildred, Edward (Edgar), Myron, Clara, Sadie & Gertrude. Not necessarily in that order.

Was your Edward Mullineaux married to Zetta (Alzetta) (possibly nee Finch)? Mom just wrote back that Ed and Zetta moved to Colorado after they got married.
If you flatten out this thread, go up several replies from this and you will see a possible answer to our Justus quandry. I am working on 2 of the Molyneaux/Mullinex brothers, Levi and Stephen, then if I don't get anywhere there I'll go back and try their other brothers William and John. I would very much like to break through that brick wall we all seem to be up against with Justus.

Thank you, I would love it if you could send those pictures. I'm sure my Mom would be tickled to see them. She said Uncle Edward and Zetta had moved to CO but couldn't remember where to in CO.

I'm also working on getting all of my info back into the computer after a crash. I have a pretty good amount of it that was in pieces now in the program, and once it is all back in the program and backed up, I'd be happy to forward a copy.

Have you done anything with Uncle Edwards brothers and sisters or Aunt Zetta's family? I did find info on Hannah, Justus's wife.

Charles Mullenix of Delaware, County,NY

I am looking for information on Charles Mullenix born 1792 and Abigail, his wife born abt. 1795. I believe her maiden name to be Gregory. Their son Jarvis b. April 8, 1815 and died 1889 - married Louisa Barnhart. She died in childbirth abt. 1859 in Andes, Delaware, NY. Louisa Barnhart was burried in Shavertown cemetery next to son Marion under last name of Mulleneaux. His second wife was Sarah Townsend. Any infomation on Sarah Townsend would also be appreciated. I have listed a George and Amelia Townsend as parents of Sarah but no proof (family legend). Some of the children of Jarvis Mullenix are as follows: Charles(born 1844), Sarah, Thomas - (Married Phoebe Miller), Marquis - (born 1852-Married Elizabeth Mullenix - cousin), Maria, Louisa (Married Jahue Mellott), Horace (born Dec. 15, 1862 - Married Ida Mae Pope in IA), Sherman, Sheldon, Peter, and Oscar. Most of Jarvis' family later moved to IA. Sarah disappears after the 1880 Delaware, NY, census. I am willing to share any information I have. Thank you.
Fay Michaelis

Hi Trudie,
Sorry I have not seen this post before now. I don't know if there is a tie in with your Mary and Maren from Samuel Mullinex. Charles Mullenix had a son named Jarvis Mullenix. My gr. gr. grandfather is Jarvis Mullinex born 1815 in Andes, Delaware, NY. My notes list that some speculate that Samuel and Jarvis are brothers. However, I have never been able to find this on any census information. I would be interested in sharing information. So many of the names are the same.
Thanks.
